How would one get Fox News people to admit to on-air lies?

Then why start out with the assumption that it was done deliberately and that it was a lie? Did it ever occur to you that whoever typed up the graphic might have made a simple mistake?

Mistakes are not lies. If someone says something that you disagree with, it is not a lie. A lie is a deliberate misstatement. This appears to have been a simple error.

Has anyone ever seen a “simple error” on Faux News that would favor Democrats?

Threaten to take back Bill O’Reilly’s Peabody Award.

Yes.

Jeez Louise!

Some Fox News intern mistypes Foley’s party on an on-screen graphic and we’re at 24 replies?

And people say Republicans are critical of the media!

Seriously…just relax. Do you think anyone actually thought that Foley had suddenly become a Democrat problem because for a few minutes he was labeled (D- FL) on fox News?

Also… js_africanus…dude, relax. I normally enjoy reading your posts but you went off a little too much on Airman Doors. He was clarifying whether Fox News was broadcast or cable re: FCC rules, nothing more. And the threats to O’Reilly…that’s just creepy.

They did it again. Just another oopsie? We report, you decide.

The Foley-as-Democrat thing is minor compared with the major lies Fox News pumps out weekly. Check www.mediamatters.org once a week, and you’ll see what I mean. It’s a progressive group, to be sure, but they’ll show you video clips to show they’re not making this stuff up. On the more egregious lies, they send letters to the offending network. They seldom get replies.

It’s not just Fox News, either. They’ll show you distortions on other networks and major newspapers.

There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me… — you can’t get fooled again.

The Daily Show would certainly be in a pickle if it were.
