"How's that hopey-changey thing workin' out for ya?"

Well done!

To the OP’s question:

“Purty damn good, little lady, so don’t you worry your purty little head about it.”

Well, it’s certainly going to get worse. There will be another Republican President eventually.

It’s probably the best one liner of the last five years. Except instead of a dissident blogger chronicling Bush/Obama similarities it actually came from a politician’s mouth. You’re not supposed to pull the curtain back like that.

You spelled changey as changy on the T-shirt. Can we get a ruling on the proper spelling of the word?

Yeah, I wasn’t sure about that. I’m thinking of moving it back to “changey.”

Can you even read what’s on the back? I don’t think it’s possible to do that on the preview either. I’m getting help through Cafe Press’s forums (maybe). I like my shirt but frankly that whole site’s making me frustrated and crazy.

Anyone got a hi-def shot of Palin’s hand while she was speaking? That should clear it up.

-Joe

Not from the site, no.

>>Palin/whoever - 2012<<
>>No Hope. No Change<<

(I gotta get me that bumper sticker for my Subaru for when I go to the States)

Was it politically smart not to promise to fix the economy first, wrt specific metrics? Yeah, probably. I don’t remember many politicians doing that, though, so I’m not sure how brilliant your guy is.

Was it what the country wanted him to do? No, as I’ve pointed out in countless threads.

Is ‘fixing’ healthcare the answer, or even an answer, to our long term economic success? Not the way it was done. We certainly don’t need another healthcare thread on this board so I won’t run down all the reasons here, and threadjack your post. A reasonably comprehensive summary can be found here and here if you’re interested.

I can’t. Could you post the text here?

You might want to add the Obama “O” logo to the back, too, unless that would make it too expensive.

My response.

“How’s that “Hope we never change and we continue being the good ole USA” thingy going for you?”

Then I’d spit in her eye.

Hows that dopey-derangey thing working out for you?

But that’s what you suggested he do, isn’t it? "I think most of America wishes he focused his hope and change efforts on the economy, not healthcare, for this past year. " Aren’t you suggesting there that he focus like a laser beam on doing something that’s practically impossible to do inside of a year by anyone, and to state specific metrics by which his success or failure can be quantified? And failing to do that is what the American public is dissatisfied with? “Barack, I think what you should do is what a sensible Republican would have done, if we’d only been able to elect one, and turn your back on the silly voters who supported your health-care agenda.” Gee, thanks for the well-intended advice.

Just casually respond “Pretty good, how about you?”

Whatever their response, nod sadly and say “I’m so sorry” then walk away.

What about the nuclear arms limitation treaty with Russia?

That ought to count too!

Those crazy kids on capitol hill! I just absolutley LOVE Obama, Pelosi and Reid. They’ve all worked so hard! I really think they deserve a vacation (permanant)! What with [del]spending us into oblivion[/del] creating so much hope, [del]losing[/del] creating so many jobs and bringing about so much [del]socialism[/del] change, they must be exhausted!

Watch out you Europeans, we’ll be just like you soon!

Maybe tshirts that simply say;
Love the change.

Thanks for the hope.

Oh, and the better world!

I think you misunderstand what I said, or I didn’t say it clearly, whatever.

I was referring to Obama not pledging to bring unemployment back down to 5%. That was smart, not putting a stake in the ground like that.

I’m suggesting that the public just saw him burn a year on healthcare, when every survey suggests that the economy was what should have been on his mind. As for ‘turning his back on the voters who supported his health-care agenda’, go re-read what the country really elected him to do.

Nah, to get that, you’d have to poll people who actually voted; for Obama. What you’ve got there is a pre-election wish-list which even includes the opinions of the losers that voted for McCain/Palin.
