What was it Heinlein said about stupid people? He was talking about Clothy.
Can you please give a concrete example of something she’s said and/or done that could be considered smart?
I suppose it could be argued that she made some smart moves parlaying her fame into money, is that what you are referring to?
Prediction of Clothy’s response: “Har har, she’s smart enough to piss off you liberals!”
Palin '12. Fuck Yeah!!!
She can have a mama bear for her running mate.
A grisly prospect, to be sure.
Is there a chance she will claw her way to the nomination?
The idea may be bruin in her mind.
She may just pooh-pooh it, though.
Oh, please stop, I simply cannot bear these atrocious puns!
Wait, I didn’t get in mine about pandaring to the Teabaggers!
Are you trying to polarize this discussion?
Palin will have to settle for VP this time around as well, just to the bumper sticker can read Ursa/Horribilis '12.
I can’t bear the thought…
I dunno. Some of them are kinda memorable.
Real Kodiak moments, you might say.
"Granpa, what’s a ‘Kodiak moment’? "
“It’s a pun on Kodak, child.”
“Oh. What’s a ‘Kodak’?”
Now you’re just Victrolling.
She’s now a grizzled veteran of the campaign trail.
I wouldn’t be true to the spirit of the Pit if I didn’t offer the obligatory line about what a low bar you’ve set here.
But seriously: Palin is not smart. She’s simply not. She’s got a level of factual political awareness that would be perfectly acceptable in a barista or a sports bookie, and there would no no reason to call that barista or that bookie stupid, I grant you. But since politics is her chosen profession, it is absolutely fair to call her stupid, in the same way that the barista could be denigrated for not knowing what cafe au lait is or the bookie not understanding what “I’ll take the Redskins and three points,” means.
And surely you’ll agree that my opinion was not reached because of my liberal views.
Well, you’d have to have some first, wouldn’t you? Otherwise, how could we tell. Got a whole box load of them, right over here. Take your pick!
I agree with this, and I’ll take it a bit further.
The reason why Mrs. Palin pisses off the “libruls” and, frankly, thinking conservatives such as Bricker is not because she’s smart or that she’s right, because she’s neither. It’s that she brings nothing of value to the civil discourse. She’s gotten rich and famous spouting off a few meaningless buzzwords that appeal to a group of people who really don’t have the level of sophistication needed to understand the civil discourse, or even to understand that that lack of sophistication is being exploited for someone else’s ends and gain, including Mrs. Palin’s. (Note that I didn’t say “intelligence”. You don’t have to be dumb or live in the sticks to be a rube.)
And, truthfully, she’s turned into the long-in-the-tooth actress who hasn’t worked in years but who stays in the limelight by having her picture taken at movie openings and awards shows. She’s still attractive, and her fans may still have a warm spot in their hearts for her, but her time is over and it’s time to let go.
