How's This For A MMP?

Too bad about your neighbor, Rebo.

**{{{Taters}}} **I’m so sorry about your dad :frowning: And I vote for skipping the luncheon Sunday; you definitely need a ‘me-day’, and it sounds like Sunday might be the only time you get it!

/sneaks over to** Sticky**'s house and lightly taps on the window panes. ‘Sticky.Stiiiiicky…You left the stove on!!!’

StickyStiiiicky…wake up! You forgot something!!’
Well, I couldn’t stop 'er GOING to bed, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try to wake her up

/send Mouse over to do the hop-hop head-butt dance

Rigs!!! How the hell are you?

pokes head in again Getting settled in the New place. PB has been taking a class; went to South Carolina for a week;have new roomie; working on a project for church; weather getting better; getting ready for Turkey day…

That’s most of it.
Love all y’all!

Oh Taters, I’m so sorry. My mom is going through dementia but at least she’s taking the docile/childlike route. It’s still incredibly difficult emotionally, so my heart goes out to you. Take care of yourself, and if that means shoppin’, go for it!

Thanks to our Mumpers for their Dorothy efforts. I didn’t post about it in that thread but part of what I’ve beem doing the past couple of years is being homeless. I’m okay right now but it gives me hope when I see that not everyone would consider me a pariah because of a long run of illness, bad luck, etc. In other words, I knew there was a reason I liked you guys!

For the happy part of this post (finally!), the weather here might be realizing it’s time for winter. Nearly ninety a couple of days ago has turned to frost on the windshield with a bit of rain. For the first time in my life I’ve got to really consider warmth in a coat purchase. Evidently style takes a backseat when temps drop below sixty for more than the overnight low. Quelle horreur!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 36 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 64! Gasp! Guess I’ll pull out a jacket to wear to irk.

rigs!!! Good to see ya! I’ve been readin’ Dot’s thread too and hope she finds help soonest.

Pearl come back and tell us all about the new place, roommate, project etc. [del]Nosy[/del] Enquirin’ Mumpers wanna know!

{{{Taters}}} so sorry about your dad. I went through that with my dad who had AD so I feel for you and the family. I vote too to cancel on the lunch thing and have a you day.

A[sup]2[/sup] don’t be silly! Style over function always! To Wong Foo With Love Julie Newmar taught us that.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Good morning!

Hey, rigs!! Welcome back to our fun room!! How’s life? Didja bring us brownies??

{{{Taters}}} - I vote that you skip the lunch and have a Taters-day. Of course, I’m not as social as you are, so I find great renewal in time alone… with chocolate.

<looking under furniture for other returning Mumpers> I guess when the weather gets cold, the chickens come back to roost!

TGIF! I still don’t know about when/where/if I’ll be traveling, so I’m pretty confident that it won’t be on Tuesday. And now that I’ve said that, I expect a phone call any second telling me to get ready to go…

Gorgeous weekend ahead - sunny and mild and just perfect for mulch-vac-ing leaves. Don’cha wish you had my weekend! Fresh air, sunshine, bits of mulched leaves and twigs blowing in your hair… and eyes… and nose… good times.

I also need to contact my mom about Thanksgiving - I usually bring the pie because no one else bakes pies and I think store-bought pie is a crime on Thanksgiving. We shall see. And I’ve got to make reservations at a hotel somewhere on I95 in South Carolina for when we drive to Ocala for Christmas. Gotta find a place that allows critters, since daughter and dog will be traveling with us. And I need to finish my glazing and fire my latest load of pottery and get it to the store right away - Christmas shopping has begun!!!

Whew - I’m exhausted and the weekend hasn’t begun yet! I need to retire…

Happy Firday!

On the rare mornings that I stay in bed after everyone else is up I can always count on at least one schnoodle to bust through my bedroom door, jump on the bed, and stand on my head and look down at me.

I’m sorry about your dad, Taters. You deserve a day of rest. Just like **Ashes, *I’m fortunate that dementia in my house takes the form of being childlike in one of them and slightly rebellious teenager in the other. I think the hardest/weirdest part is being a parent to your own grandparent.

This morning it wasn’t a dog that woke me, but the subfinder looking to fill a job. I could certainly use the money but I’ve got too many other things going on right now to be able to do that for at least 1-2 more weeks. But since I’m up I’ve decided to go to early bird water aerobics which they actually do have on Fridays.

*Upon proofreading I saw that I had written fork instead of form. Work related freudian slip? :stuck_out_tongue:

Would bein’ childlike with a fork involve runnin’ through the house with said fork?

I see whineage in my near future. See, I get this weekly report that shows me if a timesheet has not been received for participants, who, by the way, are responsible for faxin’ in their timesheets. I see five names pertainin’ to da bear on the report. I understand two of ‘em bein’ as one is dead and the other is out on leave of absence. The other three are mysteries. Thus, whineage shall ensue when there is no money magically appearin’ in bank accounts or whatever those little debit card thingys we issue to those who prefer are called. Sigh. I do not need Firday whineage.

Silly **swampy **- you expect adults to be responsible like, um, adults?? C’mon, man, you heard what Mitt said - half the country feels entitled. That means they should get what’s coming to them, regardless.

Just for the record, I do not wish to be here. I think I have a pre-3-day-weekend 'tude. Plus no chocolate. What barbaric working conditions!!!

Bacl to productivity, I guess…

I have pre three day weekend 'tude as well.

Plus I have my first whineage. I quote: “I sent the timesheet in on Wednesday.” I replied, “You do know it’s due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday in order to get paid on Friday, right?” I quote: “Yeah, but I forgot.” I replied, “Then that means no payday today. You’ll see your money next Friday.” I quote: “But I need it now!” I replied, “Again, if you get the timesheet in late, you won’t get paid on time. You know that.” I then recited chapter and verse from the Participant Manual. Whineage ended.

I can expect at least two more of those today. Lucky me!

I got up at 5:00 AM IN THE MORNING just so I could work out at the gym before work. Now it’s 7:30 AM and I’m tired. But I feel smug that I can go home after work and collapse on the couch.

Friday Wineage begins about 4:45 when I get home from work and open the refrigerator.

That kinda Firday Wineage I can get with!

On a more serious note, we have a major, major I say, catastrophe here at irk that must be taken care of with all urgency. I dare even write this out so catastrophic a thing it is…

We have a lack of  cookies !!!111OMG

This is about to be rectified before anything else. Peoples, we are in crisis mode!

No good ever comes when family members call after 11 PM.

A certain maternal relative never got around to having a colonoscopy. By the usual recommendations, she should have had four by now. Her first was last week. As I understand it, some sort of internal tattoo was done to mark or measure the bad stuff, and she had a bad response to it, leading to her neighbor taking her to the hospital last night.

So now, I’m waiting to hear if it’s an overnight observation just because she lives alone, or if it’s more serious. With our family history, I hate to say that it’s probably the latter, so we have to wait to find out the staging level.

Joe Cocker just visited me at work!

As well as his little sister Sammy Joe Cocker.

They’re the executive housekeeper’s two cocker spaniels. They’re adorable.

gotti appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re your maternal relative. Here’s hopin’ it was just for observation.

Crisis averted. You may all stand down. Cookieage has been achieved. Break time has been saved.

ETA: Spaz I am extremely jealous. I loves me some cocker spaniels!

It’s Friday afternoon and I am having a blurf.

Irk is nearly over for the day and then I am off to London on the train, meeting my doting parent and then tomorrow we are off to watch the procession for the Lord Mayor’s Show thingie.

Thus my Friday wineage will commence when I get on said train as I can take some with me to keep me going. I’ll be home on Saturday night when I am planning on an evening of sofa-time and cocktails. I see nothing at all wrong with that plan except for the fact that I don’t have a 3-day weekend. On the plus side, we have no cookies but we do have mince pies. And I is very fond of a mince pie, especially the one sitting on my desk next to the my cup of tea.

Up and caffeinated. Breakfast is being considered.

Hey Pearl!

Welcome back rigs!

[del]swampy, no cookies? I’d riot, if I were you.[/del] Unless it’s Casual Riot Friday, then go for it.

Got a day off from pole dancin’ do ya doggio?

I like the idea of casual riot Firday. I mean, jeans, riotin’, lootin’ and pillagin’. It’s all win-win!
