How's this for coincidence

I was watching Tom Selleck in Ike; Countdown to D-Day this evening and after it finished I checked my playlist on the DVR and Bluebloods was the new recording.
Well Tom used the same words in the latest Bluebloods episode as he did in the 2004 film!
Just after demoting Maj. Gen. Henry Miller (Paul Gittins) he is telling His COS Lt.Gen Beetle Smith “It isn’t the big decisions that weigh heavy…It’s the small stuff, it’s easy to gamble a million lives, whats hard is to see how that can affect one person”

The Blue Bloods series first aired today he used the same line at the end of a successful operation to stop a terrorist plot.
I checked the writers of both story’s and they are not the same nor is the director, so is Tom helping with the lines?

Funny, I was just watching a Magnum, PI rerun where he said that to Higgins.

I did some searching and didn’t find anything on the origin of that quote unless it’s just a Sellick favorite?
I figured it was mundane enough to post here anyway.:stuck_out_tongue:

He says it to Monica on Friends, too, I think.

I think he said that when he changed the diaper in Three Men and a Baby.

I remember him saying something really similar to that in Smokey and the Bandit II.
