Huh?

That is
A: completely insane,
and
B: not at all surprising.

Sometimes it’s good to be a cynic. This is one of those times.

How sad that this lady has had to suffer the trauma of losing her leg, the death of a child in her care and now in dealing with ignorant bureaucrats.

We are, each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another

If hospital records and actually seeing the leg is gone is not good enough, what would qualify as “prima facie medical evidence”?

I hope that the people slowing up this case lose their jobs, and be held accountable.

If anyone’s interested, below is the address for NY’s Workers Comp home page. (Their email address is located there, too.)

If that false leg is detachable, she should beat the judge with it.

No fucking way.
I’m SURE that what they mean is that there’s no medical evidence that she lost the leg while working. Obviously the woman has lost her leg, and they could never deny that.

The case is either gross incompetence on the part of the part of the worker’s compensation board, or a horrible misrepresentation by the reporter.

I sold my soul to Satan for a dollar. I got it in the mail.

Come on, everyone knows, the easiest way to win a lawsuit is to drrrraaaaaaaaagggggggg it out as long as possible.
The hope being that either the other person or you (preferably the other person) will die first meaning:
YOU WIN!!!

The system is broken, we all know that. Lets all just hope none of the crumbling bits fall on anyone we love, because the people who have the power to fix it have a vested interest in preserving it the way it is.

Clerks - Just because they serve you doesn’t mean they like you.

What exactly does “prima facie” mean? Is the court using the term correctly?

Remember, I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together.
