Human Resource People Playing God

I’m starting to see a tiny glimmer of an explanation here. I think I now understand why you are mysteriously treated badly by all kinds of people wherever you go. Must be some strange field around you that turns everyone nearby into jerks.

ETA: That temp agency where you were not getting calls, and your paperwork was sitting in the bottom of a file cabinet? Did you by chance tell a secretary there to “fuck off”? Or otherwise treat someone like shit? Because when you do that, that’s when your paperwork mysteriously falls out of the file and ends up in the bottom drawer.

You’re the one who brought mission statements into this discussion.

Now, on a more helpful note, have you tried to find some training in the program you’re interested in online? It might not be as good as the training in the training centre, but it might be enough to get you into a position somewhere.

Did you whine and cry about not being familiar with the software? Were you as much of an ass to them as you’re being now?

Doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes (or Matlock, or even Scooby and the Gang) to solve this mystery.

I got this far and came to a conclusion about the OPs issues. Am I right?

Sweet. I just won 10 bucks off myself.

Glad to see I’m not as cynical as I originally thought.

This is why I only hire red gnomes.

Racist.

Out of curiosity, what is this software? Perhaps you can self-train and go back to that employer?

Microsoft Windows. Pretty esoteric; you’ve probably never heard of it. For weeks I got hung up on the first screen, which kept displaying some incomprehensible gibberish about locking a key cap, or something. Finally got my nephew to hack into it for me so I just leave it on all the time. I think I have a virus now though, because it sometimes shows all these colored lines all over the screen that disappear when I move the roller thing with the buttons. I’m thinking of trying that other one instead. Linnix? My nephew said he can get me a good deal on that.

I use a platform called echyscech. It has really allowed me to shake things up at work!

Hint: See your post #13.
I wouldn’t hire you either.

I didn’t use the term as a jumping point for discussion. I posted this thread as a rant just after hearing about being screwed by this guy who’s supposed to be there to help people. This thread was intended to discuss the screwage, not academic discussions of terminology used within the rant.

I don’t care if you’d hire me, Athena or whatever your name is, because I’m not interested in being an electronic technician. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oooo burn, eulalia!

So far as I can tell, the only way you can keep a post around here (especially in the Pit) from becoming a jumping point for discussion is to not post it.

Dear God, people are discussing things other people have posted on a message board! Somebody shut this whole thing down! It’s gone completely off the rails!

Cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!

I was well-behaved, but nice of ewe to assume otherwise.

Because many good techs are socially challenged, I don’t expect a lot in that area, but nobody lasts long in a job if they make a habit of telling people who are trying to help to “fuck off”. I don’t care what job you ate trying to get, You aren’t qualified to be a janitor where I work if you can’t be civil.

The same company?

No wonder no qualified applicants get through. Very few people print resumes on old grocery sacks or butcher’s paper.

Good one!

No, thankfully, not the same company- but they both worked in the same industry, both for very big companies.
