I’m writing a novel, and, at one point, one of the characters gets caught in an explosion. However, for some reason, I have forgotten the upper limit of shockwave pressure that can be endured by a human before their internal organs turn to jelly. I want to make my book slightly futuristic, but not so advanced that it is beyond all comprehension. I would prefer measurements in pounds per square inch.
Here’s one quick chart with PSI and effects against structures and humans. The attached reference in the paper, TM 5-1300 is also available for free download from the tubes.
Thanks!
