I don’t want to post this in the various other Hunger Games threads because I don’t want to spoil it for myself.
I have just finished the first book, is that enough to see the movie or does the movie cover all three books? I want to see the movie but not if it’s going to spoil the books for me.
The movie covers just the first book. Also, the first book works as a stand-alone novel while the next two books are really a two-part sequel.

I don’t really agree that the first book works as a stand-alone novel. It ends with way too many questions in the air, and it’s clear that the threat is still very much there.
It was conceived as a trilogy I believe. The stand-alone followed by two part sequel formula is true of things like Star Wars or The Matrix, but not this.
