The KGB used the same line during their midnight arrests, too.
looks like he’s the modern day Billy Carter
I learned yesterday for the first time that the US Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs.”
Here’s the thing. The US Attorney’s Office doesnt normally investigate taxes, unless the IRS is done.
This seems like a political hit.
And this has what to do with the fake Biden laptop situation?
Guess it’s not fake. HB bank turned him in for foreign monies.
You don’t seem to be very good at guessing. You might want to avoid Las Vegas for your next vacation.
Cite?
And sure, maybe he didnt report all his overseas income. That is pretty common, and you’d expect a notice from the IRS and some penalties- but NOT the US Attorney.
Which has nothing whatsoever to do with the fake laptop.
ModNote: this is making it personal. P&E like GD is about challenge the post and not the poster. Please do not repeat.
Hunter Biden even admitted he used his name to get jobs.
I’ve used my name to get jobs. Do you not understand how the world works?
I think it’s important to keep something in mind:
When President Trump was investigated for the Ukraine phone call, we had the transcript of the call with incontrovertible evidence of – at least – wrongdoing (the quid pro quo).
The question was whether or not he had committed a crime or an impeachable act.
The story you’re referencing is much like the Trump campaign’s position on the election: it had to have been stolen. Give us a minute and we’ll try to find even a scintilla of evidence in support of that theory.
These situations could not be more opposite…
And only one represents how nations that value the Rule of Law operate.
As others have said, I don’t care who investigates Hunter Biden, and for what. If they have probable cause that he committed a crime, then they should (properly) investigate him.
But Hunter really wasn’t running to be the 46th POTUS.
And it all really is Just That Simple.
Is this a crime? Is this unethical? Is this unusual?
Feel free to explain to all of us why this is a problem, and why Hunter Biden is a bad person for doing this, while millions of other people can do this without getting investigated by the US Attorney’s Office.
I’ll worry if he uses his name to get a national security clearance.
So you think it’s a serious issue when people get jobs just because of their names, or who they’re related to?
And that’s terrible.
In fact I’ve heard how terrible it is from Donald Trump, whose daughter and son-in-law were given high-level advisory positions at the White House (despite one of them being unable to pass security clearance).
I’ve heard it from Bill Barr, whose daughter and son-in-law worked for the Executive Branch.
I’ve heard it from Rudy Giuliani, whose son is an assistant to President Trump.
I’ve heard it from Mitch McConnell, whose wife was appointed Secretary of Transportation (despite several material conflicts of interest) by President Trump.
I’ve heard it from John McCain’s daughter, Ron Paul’s son, and Mitt Romney’s niece.
And I’m grateful that the Republicans are all so willing to teach us that nepotism and use of family connections to get ahead are a sign of fundamental corruption.
Again, this has what to do with the already disproved Biden laptop situation?
This could be just the break that the Eric Trump campaign has been waiting for!
Nothing at all illegal about that, or even unethical, IMHO. How many children of stars have Hollywood careers?
I think all of you have the wrong end of the stick here.
It’s a horrible unethical (and maybe criminal) breech to use your name to get jobs if you are a Democrat.
That’s the point we must all keep in mind here.
Can the Democratic taint be erased after a certain number of generations or does it stay with the descendants forever? If Hunter was a Republican, would it be okay then? Or his kid, grandkid, etc.? Or should any Biden from now on give up any hope of having any job ever again?
