We shame Trump’s kids mercilessly; as well we should for the shit things they say and do. Even the ones who aren’t “appointed” to positions in the administration. As if any of those useless twats have ever done a day’s work in their life.
Really, I don’t understand this near absolute denial to admit that perhaps the Bidens could have made better decisions. Even an admission from Hunter himself is not enough for some here to give a single inch and admit it at least that much. It’s surreal. What the hell are any of you afraid of? Giving Sam_Stone some sort of tiny concession? What like he’s going to take a mile if you give him an inch?
The argument isn’t, “perhaps could have made better decisions” the argument that the RW media is making, that Sam is parroting is, “Biden evil, laptop evil. Trump less evil.”
Was it a bad idea? I don’t grant that. He was offered a job, he took it. Most people would do the same thing. Does it look bad, sure. Especially if you start from the position, “DEMS ARE TEH EVIL.”
The whole point of this, other than tearing down BIden, is to create a permission structure where GOP voters can feel better about themselves because the other side is evil too. It’s nonsense driven by the GOP voters being too weak to face the reality that they’re supporting a wretched man.
He was not “offered a job” in the same sense that you, or I, or most of us are offered a job. Hunter did not sit in a Burisma office 40-50 hours a week, with benefits and two weeks paid vacation. Can we just stop this b.s. please?
If Hunter’s resume is shown a proof-of-merit and then they said that X excecutive went from selling refrigerators to selling tampons as a basis to counter “Hunter doesn’t know shit about gas” then my examples are on point.
They generally don’t have day-to-day responsibilities to speak of. It’s generally considered a side-gig, where lending your name to the company is your most valuable contribution. It lends the veneer of credibility and gravitas.
Daily, it’s like the “Shark Tank” sharks vis-a-vis each company in which they invest: it takes very little of their time to service each individual investment.
You attend the requisite Board meetings and take care of the agenda for that meeting.
It’s not a 9-to-5 gig. You’re paid for what you are, who you are, and who you know (or who knows you) as much as what you know.
Generally.
ETA: I agree with the broad outlines of this section:
Anything Hunter might have done doesn’t come close to this, based on all the evidence available – and you were the one who brought up the comparison to the Trumps. They’re not comparable.
Admit what? That Hunter might have made some poor decisions? Who cares? Why does this matter?
The attacks on the Bidens from tabloids and worse have nothing to do with nepotism, poor judgment, corruption, etc., and everything to do with dishonestly aiding Trump. They should be dismissed and otherwise ignored, since they are evidence-free. Feel free to criticize poor judgment by the Bidens in a non-campaign context.
You said, “It’s completely different to have no experience at all in anything and never having anything positive to say or do and getting it becasue of contacts.” I asked how it was relevant to the thread.
This thread is about Hunter Biden. I can’t figure out who you’re talking about. Anyone who read the thread knows that it is not an accurate description of Hunter Biden. Not even close.
