I don’t think it’s a forum on idiots but it is an echo chamber and an inhospitable environment for conservatives or even moderate liberals.
I come her because I frequently see some very good arguments against conservative positions and it helps clarify my more moderate positions. I even get my mind changed sometimes.
For example I have moved to the right on gay rights and to the left on transgender rights.
I have moved to the right on abortion rights and to the left on voting rights.
I have moved to the right on affirmative action and to the left on reparations.
I guess I am just pining for the final years of the Bush administration and the early years of the obama administration when facts had a liberal bias.
