I can, but it involves being Wrong about something, which is a concept some are loath to admit can exist in the realm of political ideology. The thing which the people I’m thinking of (TERFs)* are Wrong about is gender: They believe, as a matter of dogmatic faith, that gender is 100% absolutely socialized into someone, and will not hear anything to the contrary.
So, if you have that as an article of faith, trans people don’t exist for you. People who feel that their gender is out of step with their sex cannot possibly be real. They must be lying, either as males trying to invade female spaces (male-to-female trans people) or as lesbians in denial who need to accept that they’re lesbians and get into a lesbian relationship (female-to-male trans people) because TERFs are the Incels of the Left. TERFs are typically quite gay-positive, but their worldview is utterly incompatible with the very existence of trans people, so any trans people who exist need to stop existing now kthxbye.
I don’t disagree that it might make people uncomfortable. But there’s a difference between that and saying they are shouting you down or forcing you to leave simply by saying things.
Even when I argue about racism or sexism pushing people away from the board, I mean they choose to leave to avoid that stuff. They aren’t being censored or anything.
I hate the argument that merely using speech somehow censors speech. That’s only possible if it crosses into harassment (or they have some sort of authority and could ban you), not just because someone thinks you shouldn’t have said what you said or wants you to go away.

Yes, you are correct. Merely speaking your point of view isn’t silencing. Continuing to bug the mods for a quid pro quo of dollars for preferential treatment might be silencing. Running away because people have a different point of view is just weak.
