Is it reasonable to assume that New Orleans defences have been sufficiently improved in the 16 years since Katrina to withstand Ida - forecast to be a cat 3.
They’re now talking about it being Cat 4 at landfall.
And while I’d like things to be better this time around I am doubtful they are. Although perhaps fewer people will refuse to evacuate this time around.
