Hu's on first.

Last week I was in Los Angeles and managed to catch my first game at Dodger Stadium. I was delighted to find that their new infielder was Chin-lung Hu.

Hu got a couple of singles and a walk. At one point the woman sitting next to me went to the concession stand, and missed some of the action. When she came back and asked what had happened, it made my night to be able to tell her โ€œHuโ€™s on first.โ€

Please please tell me that, somewhere in their minor league system, the Dodgers have infielders named Watt and Idanow who might eventually make the team.

Maybe Michael will convert to 2nd base!

And maybe one of these authors can be convinced that baseball solves a lot of philosophical questions.

The right fielder is not named in the routine. Since Today is catching while Tomorrow pitches, however, the right fielder could have been Monday had Rick somehow made it to the majors about a decade before he was born.

Hu already made the team.

Thatโ€™s what heโ€™s asking!

I was in town at a game a week and a half ago, and had fun giggling to myself about this. I was disappointed though, that he is NOT a first baseman. Yeah, yeah, a million people have already made that joke. Oh well!

In undergrad, I took physics from Doctor Hu. He looked like a Chinese guy with glasses this time.

Hu did?

Watt do you mean? Of course he made the team, he was on first.

Is there a left fielder somewhere named Wye, or a center fielder named Backus?

Yes.

Looks like our dream team would be something like this:

1B: Hu
2B: Watt
3B: Eidonow
LF: Wye
CF: Backus
C: Toddy
P: Tamara
SS: Ardent Givadarn

Hu?
