HyperLinks in Excel 2000

On my computer’s hard drive, I have a folder named “Project.” As sub-folders under “Project,” I have “Data-Sheets” and “Part-Numbers.” The “Data-Sheets” folder contains sub-folders named “Company A,” “Company B,” etc. Each “Company” folder contains PDF data sheets downloaded from that company’s website. The “Part-Numbers” folder contains Excel 2000 spreadsheets that detail pertinent parameters for a specific part number.

I want to establish hyperlinks from specific part numbers to the applicable PDF data sheets in the applicable “Company” folder. This is a straightforward task except for the fact that the “Link to File” dialog box opens with the “Files of Type” menu set to “Office Files.” Each and every time I establish a link, I have to manually set that menu to “All Files” before I can see the PDF files and this piddling little detail is driving me insane. Is it possible to change the default setting from “Office Files” to “All Files” and, if so, how?
