He (she?) won’t be seen around for a while I suspect. In a week or so he’ll post in a thread to test the waters. Then if no one notices he’ll just come back like nothing ever happened, kind of like how you just show up at your local bar a month after you make an ass of yourself and pretend it never happened, not that I’d know.
I don’t think Obama is evil, I think he has a different idea of the role of gov than I do. I am 53 and was brought up that it’s almost shameful to be on the gov dole unless you really needed it.
Might sound strange to younger folks. I just get this vague impression that Obama almost feels the need to have people on gov programs, whether they need it or not. But that’s for great debates, I won’t debate it here.
But regarding the 70% or so of Hispanics/Latinos who voted for him. I live in New Mexico and work with quite a few Hispanics, as they prefer to be called here. (Or self-identify as Vatos, as we say at work 
They invariably vote Dem. I asked my buddy today: "So you voted for Obama? “Yep”
I said “But you are a conservative and don’t realize it” “You are a pro-life Catholic. Check. You have a lot of guns and have bitched about the gov taking your guns. Check. are you for gay marriage? No (never met a Hispanic here for it) Immigration? No we don’t want those wets here.” On and on.
So, should the Pubs focus on the Latinos? Anyway, just a local data point…

Are you able to describe what real need is? Is it a Physical disability that prevents the ability to perform work? Would a mental disability count? What about being bright enough but being under-educated because public education in your town wasn’t well funded? What if you can’t get hired because of the color of your skin, would that count? Or because you have an infant at home but your husband ran off and the courts can’t find him to make him pay his court mandated child-support and have you priced out the cost of daycare recently?
Yes there are bootstraps ways out of all these situations, but what do you eat in the meantime? Where do you sleep?
How do you identify a real need? This isn’t baiting, I’m honestly curious.
Being poor sucks. Being shamed for it only adds to the suckitude.
The poor will be with us always. There is no effort to keep people poor in order to get them hooked on substance handouts. There is recognition that some people got dealt a shitty hand in this great city on the hill, but since there are such extreames of wealth here, it’s a universal good to ensure the lowest level of poor-borne depravity is as high as feasible.
Recharacterizing that in such base terms as the OP demonstrates both a profound lack of humanity and a stark inability to understand multifaceted issues.
