I am Blocked at Wikipedia

And with good reason, I might add. When I am in Saudi Arabia, I have to use a common ISP address, and I am sure many people have done many things that make blocking the ISP a good idea.

Now I am in the US and have a case of the crud. I log into Wikipedia, and discovered the Admin ‘‘Freakofnurture’’ blocked me. OK, so I go to his page and click on the ‘e-mail this user’ thingee. I get told it will not give me the e-mail address because I am blocked.

OK, I go to the Admin noticeboard, I try to post a short note, but cannot as I am blocked.

So what should I do now.

(I can’t help, but just want to ask: are you on home leave? Back permanently? Looking to go scout out your retirement home in Lake Chapala?)

Can’t you do it as an anonymous user?

I am home for another week’s vacation, then back to fun and sun.

I was supposed to go back to Mexico to tease real estate agents, but I have been under the weather since I got back. I cancelled the trip.

You can all consider this a gentle bump in my quest for help from a Wikipeidan.

I went to their ‘contact us’ page and found:

The “E-mail our help desk” has info-en@wikimedia.org as the underlying address.

In truth, I’m not sure why I’m posting this. You’ve proven over and over to be quite intelligent, so please forgive me if the above comes off as condescending—that is, you already knew of the above and are looking for help of more depth. But… perhaps you didn’t see it, so perhaps it may help after all. Anyway, good luck and enjoy your vacation!

Are you using the same laptop or something?

If so, clearing your cookies and cache may help.

Gee, ‘Quite intelligent!’ Many thanks. I give all the credit to my spell-checker on my home machine.

I did find the e-mail address after I posted my question; I have not yet received a reply.

No, I am working with Mom’s laptop. (I wonder if she has been blocked, that would be amusing.)

Thank you all. I am unblocked.

I only regret I cannot recall what the heck I wanted to edit.

Interestingly, I find that, even if my IP address is blocked, I can still make changes to articles by clicking on the little “[edit]” icons for each section.

Shh! I thought I was the only one in on that. I regret that in my urainium-deleted condition, I did not resort to that trick.

Hm, really. I’ll have to report that to the developers. It shouldn’t let you do that.
