I am HIV negative.

I am so glad everyone has tested negative ! {slight hi-jack]
A couple of years ago the LIONsob screwed up badly, and I insisted we both be tested and was retested a few months ago just to be sure. Waiting for the results only mad a painful situation much much worse.

People if you feel you must screw around in the name of all that is called sane, use a condom ! [/hi-jack]

I give blood now and then so they did the usual tests on said blood, but I never had a “real” HIV test until I decided to go on the pill. Like others who’ve posted, my chances of coming up positive were small but the phone call informing me I was negative was one of the best calls I’ve ever gotten. The nurse sounded positively thrilled to be passing along good news-- it made me wonder what it’s like when the news is bad, and you’re the one who has to pass it along to the person who’s been tested.

Congrat, Sue!

Yeah, that would be one congrat. I’m saving up.

HPV is something probably most of us are carrying. No lie. Most of us will never know because they don’t all seem to cause symptoms, and even the ones that do might just lie dormant. They don’t think barrier methods of birth control help, either, in transmission. In my expereince, the mutliple pap smears and coloscopies do subside after a few years of healthy results.

Congrats on the test. I had the test with a lot of the same fears. Same results.

I was chuckling, Sue, over the way your post could read:

Hey, I’m HIV free! Anyone wanna hook up while I’m in Detroit?

Maybe you have to have my immature dirty mind to find that funny. Anyway, I do live near Detroit, but I might be in the midst of dissertation hell at that time. Keep up posted…

I’m so glad you’re HIV- but why on earth would a fabulous babe like you think she needs a nose job?

Nope, not insane.
I was married, loved my husband and wanted his child.
He was 8 months old when his father died, so he didn’t “watch” him die.
And I and my son are fine.
The doctor said its not that uncommon for someone to avoid getting infected, in other words, it wasn’t a miracle.

Read all about it here, Padeye.

Thanks for correcting my cluelessness on the situation Necros.

Sue, please breathe well.
