This has got to be the weirdest thing I’ve ever done, in a good way.
My classmates and I grew up in the same small town, Stow, Ohio.
We all went to the local elementary schools, then all joined up together for middle school through high school.
However, the bunch from Indian Trails Elementary School were very tight.
When somebody posted a class picture from our 6th grade class on Facebook it caused all sorts of people to crawl out of the woodwork.
So I had an idea, let’s have an elementary reunion! What the hell, I’m retired, home all day and have nothing else to do. So when I brought up the plan the response has been tremendously heartwarming.
So far, 15 people are coming. It will be the Saturday after Christmas, 29 December. I will have a full bar and catering. I love to host parties. I still have some LPs from my childhood that should get a laugh. If only I could get my hands on the film-strip showing the life of a frog!
This sounds so cool! I wonder if one could find such a filmstrip via google or youtube. I know you can find the classic film “Duck And Cover” on youtube.
I helped organise one of these a few years back, though we are younger than you. One big question we agonised over was whether we should invite people to bring their SO. We ended up deciding against it on the basis that you would spend the whole evening chaperoning your SO around, introducing them to everyone etc. And instead of being a bunch of old friends and acquaintences it would be approximately half total strangers, which we thought would chill the atmosphere.
I’m glad we decided as we did, but we did put at least one person’s nose very much out of joint by our decision.
