Great, I’m sure Reeder and DtC will be glad to have suezeekay take some of their workload off of them.
Oh please, stop acting like it’s a bunch of whiners. If you invited a guest, don’t you think you’d be pissed off if they (or their chauffeur) drove their SUV into your rosebushes while arriving?
Why is this In IMHO?
Shouldn’t this be in the Pit or in MPSIMS?
What opinion are you asking of anyone?
Pictures?
Yeah, you might, but nobody’s provided a reliable cite that this actually happened – remember?
I’m betting any damage to the gardens was minimal, or otherwise considered acceptable within the scope of the visit.
I bet the Queen wasn’t “furious”.
I bet the head gardener didn’t cry.
If someone has a better cite, then lay it on us, brother. Otherwise, I’ll file this with other dubious tabloidery.
No, he wasn’t. The Supreme Court made him president
You know what’s sad? I really, honestly, and with no sarcasm whatsoever, think that Lex Luthor, if he weren’t fictional, would probably be a better president than George W. Bush.
Yes, if I hadn’t PAINTED THE PARKING SPACE IN THE ROSEBUSHES. It’s not like they had absolutely no clue the helecopter was going to land there. The big H didn’t just drop out of the sky (so to speak). This landing had to have been planned and approved by several people, I’m sure. I doubt it was just “Oh, dear, there’s a helicopter landing…OH, NO, IT’S LANDING ON THE LAWN!”
I too am incredibly embarrassed by the man who sits in the White House, but as far as the list of reasons for my embarrassment, the state of the gardens of the Queen of England and the emotional health of her pet flamingos come in somewhere between numbers seven and eight thousand.
My message to the Queen: Hey, it could be worse. He just wrecked your garden and your home; he’s wrecking our entire country.
I loved this bit
I now have this image of QE2 and Philip fiddling with the TV set during Countdown[sup][/sup]. Don’t they have cable at Buckingham Palace?
[sup] Venerable British gameshow famously popular with senior citizens, reportedly including the Queen herself[/sup]
The Royal Family is littered with military members. Helicopters are not an unusual vehicle in their entourage. I find it hard to believe they have never landed on the lawns of the Palace before. Indeed, I imagine they would have a special area for such visits.
This is probably just a bit of shit stirring by the Sunday Mirror. It’s a sister paper of the Daily Mirror. Yes, the same Daily Mirror that sneaked a reporter into Buck House pretending to be a servant. Royalty and the Mirror Group are not talking to one another right now. (Except perhaps through their respective lawyers )

There is a simple solution, though… invite the Queen over the the U.S. for a visit, and she can let her corgies loose in the rose garden to uproot the plants and defecate all over the lawns…
Well, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is actually a brownstone. We had to paint it white after the Brits burned it.
They should have had the helicopters hover over the lawn and Bush could’ve commando-rolled out of them, onto the lawn. I would’ve liked to see that.
Moving this to the BBQ Pit.
I’m far more interested in the chef debacle. Than can’t be true, can it?
Can you elaborate on this please?
MY GOD! WON’T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE FLAMINGOS?!
