So we have RHPS fans, Simpsons fans, Star Wars fans, and Star Trek fans. Anyone into Dr. Who?
I used to be, but the local PBS station stopped carrying it a long time ago. Since then I lost interest. It was decently clever, but it was hard when your friends openly mocked you for watching it…
I always thought Teegan and Nyssa (sp?) were scrumptious. Too bad they weren’t gay.
Favorite episode: I think it was called “Castrovalva”?
I love Dr. Who, but my local station also deep sixed it some years ago.
Tom Baker was my favorite.
Scotti
Tom Baker was the true Dr.Who.
The others were but pale imitations.
Just to ward off a possible firefight, this is just my opinion.
And my opinions are always right.
I started watching the Doctor back in the 70’s in southern California, and have been a fan of all the Doctors since then. I have seen every episode that is available, and have read all of the books so far. As much as I like Tom Baker, I think that Sylvester McCoy added the most to the roll.
A friend of mine is an enormous Doctor Who fan - so much so that we both contributed many drawings and comic strip stories to the NZ Dr Who Fan Club.
So these days I’m averagely knowledgable about Doctor Who, even though I was never especially a fan, as such.
However, I agree. The Seventh Doctor - Sylvester McCoy - coupled with Ace (who is a babe) was my favourite.
Check out some of the online news about Dr. Who, they say a new movie is in the works.
I’m a huge Doctor Who fan; I even read the new novels that are coming out about once a month. I also run a discussion board at http://www.nitcentral.com/discus (scroll down to Doctor Who).
they’ve said a new movie is in the works for a while now. i’m a huge Dr.Who fan. too bad they stopped airing it here. Personally, the 7th Doc is how i base my fashion sense.
I used to be. The Denver PBS station would show a whole story (4-8 episodes) all at once. It was rather bad timing, though, because they started at 10 am Sunday. So either my dad would be pissed because I wasn’t doing yardwork or my mom would be for skipping church.
I myself liked Davison’s Doctor. He made the show a little less comic and more dramatic. Plus, I liked his companions most of all.
I agree! Tom Baker was the quintessential Dr Who. He had the ability to inject an element of humour into his character, that none of the other actors who played the Dr could ever achieve.
My favourite plot (I cannot possibly remember the title) was set in renaissance Italy, about the time of Leonardo da Vinci. I think it was one of Tom Baker’s last stories before he quit the role.
