I am looking for informations about real-life case....

I remember watching an episode of Crime stories and they featured a story about a guy who was convicted of rape as a teenager, the only forensic evidence linking him to the case being hair samples found on the scene (forensic expert confirmed that hairs belonged to him). He was sentenced to forty years in prison. Years later Innocence project took over his case and they managed to prove that forensic examination of hairs was poorly done and that the hairs didn’t belong to him. They also managed to obtain a DNA profile from semen found on male brief’s found on a scene and it didn’t belong to him, he was released after serving fifteen years in prison and later married to a female prison guard whom he met in prison. I forgot his name, does anyone know his name so I can find out did they ever find a guy who did it and did the innocent guy he sue the state? I think that a man who analysed hairs did some mistakes before and sent some other innocent people in prison too but they were later released.

Go to the Innocence Project website and do a search and/or browse cases.

Use search terms like rape, hair, fifteen, DNA…

Sounds like Jimmy Ray Bromgard.
