I like to browse thru dictionaries sometimes. You’d be surprised what unique words you can discover that way. One time while browsing thru my dictionary I came across an interesting word. It is the word for an alloy which bears a striking resemblance to gold. In fact it is often used in fake jewelry for that very purpose. It might contain copper, I honestly don’t remember though. This word is interesting because it is also used for insincere words or something like that. This is all I remember about this one word.
Also, I was thinking of adding this next one in another thread. But I thought, “what the heck”, include it in this one too. I am also looking for a word I found in a much older dictionary, and some years before the last one. It is the name for the clear watery fluid that sometimes oozes out of human skin when you are cut. It is interesting because it is also the name the ancient Greeks gave for the fluid that supposedly flowed thru gods’ veins instead of blood. I say I found it in an old dictionary because I don’t know if it is used i the human-fluid sense anymore. I want to say the word sounds like “Acryl”. But I honestly don’t remember.
Hey, I don’t know how to look up words like this. I know Google and Wikipedia can’t be used this way. So for future reference, if anyone knows how to look up words this way, please tell me:).
Thank you in advance to all who reply:)
