I’ve reported your thread so that a mod can move it. It probably belongs in the MPSIMS section of the board.
Also, you’ll find over time that the majority of members here prefer that the board be kept reasonably uniform, and that posting in unusual colors or in other ways that draw visual attention to your posts is, if not forbidden (?), at least discouraged.

[ps: I noted that one of the rules of ‘The Straight Dope’ msg board posting adverts is a violation of the rules & is, therefore, subject to suspension of privileges …so, why all the adverts, eh??? They’re on every page. If posting adverts are against the rules, then NO ONE, not even the site masters, should break this rule. You are our role models, don’tcha know? Do away w/ adverts altogether, me luv. They’re irritating & most of all: AGAINST ‘DOPE’ RULES! (& please don’t come back w/ justification…I already know what your excuses of defence shall be. Ta-ra!]

Those advertisements are not posts. What’s more, you wouldn’t see them if you were a subscriber.
We do allow advertisements for members only in the Marketplace forum. Guests are free to browse the Marketplace, and buy stuff, but they can’t place ads in it.
There was a thread about that very thing recently.
In it, TubaDiva stated that the admins will very politely ask the newer member to choose a different name. When it comes to user names, TPTB consider it to be first come, first served.
