No, we’re talking about all shootings.
True, you’re right.
You are not making sense.
Underpants Gnome logic: when you understand the start and the goal, but the steps linking them are unknown.
You refuse to understand how completely you’re being played.
Why? I am unable to find figures on the police and military market, but I’m sure it would still be significant. The manufacturers wouldn’t simply close their doors and walk away; more likely the big companies (Baretta, S&W, Glock) would still be in demand though shrink, and the marginal players would go out of business. Do you fear that if the non-police market were to dry up, the police wouldn’t be able to buy guns anymore, or buy their guns of choice? Seems unlikely.
By meaningless babble? :dubious: Well done sir, well done!
They would have limitations, the police market isnt that big. They could carry mil-spec handguns or go back to revolvers.
The Big companies depend heavily on military contracts and the sporting market.
Given that, on the whole, gun rights in the U.S. have been expanding over the past 20 years, I’m not sure what you’re worried about.
I was going to say that, at the rate we’re progressing towards that near-complete ban, we ought to be there by the year 2525. But really, like I said, we’re going in the other direction - at the rate we’re going, we’ll get there never. But in another 20-30 years, if things keep going the way they are, you guys will have the right to carry any gun, anywhere and any way (brandishing? A-OK!) you want to, with no state authority to deny anyone the right to do so, even violent ex-felons.
There’s a slippery slope, all right. It’s the gun nut’s best friend.
Not the last 20 years, the last ten years.
DC, Chicago, and SF had all passed or were moving towards a total ban. Heller stopped that nonsense.
Heller has rolled back some of the more restrictive laws.
California, at least, continues it’s “nibbling”.
It is not our duty to keep big gun companies big.
No, but I would like our Police to be armed as well as the Bad guys. crazy thought that, I know.
They don’t even have to ask us to. There are enough people happily willing to do it anyway, who can’t even grasp how they’re being played.
Well, that’s easy enough to do. But what you advocate for is that the bad guys are as well armed as the police.
Until black people and Muslims start open carrying weapons everywhere, at which point I envision strict guns laws to come back into fashion.
No, sadly, I think we will just see more black and Muslim victims of police shootings.
Sure. Until the NRA starts viciously attacking those police who kill innocent black people and Muslims who are simply practicing their 2nd Amendment rights!
double post 'cause my wireless crapped out.
By the same logic, someone (not me or anyone in this thread) could say “Remember, the 9/11 hijackers were law-abiding Muslims until 9/11.”
Remeber, almost all the shootings that occur daily are by people who obtained the guns illegally and have previously been convicted of felonies, and most of those previous felonies involved guns obtained illegally.
It is our duty to make sure activities which are legal and guaranteed by the Constitution are not prevented by anyone.
