WOW DID YOU EVER SPAZ THERE! Point me out the racist remark here:
I am proud to be Asian
I am proud to be black
I am proud to be white
I am proud to be Filipino
I am proud to be Spanish
Now only 1 out of those 5 is considered HORRIBLY RACIST. You know what Im sayin. This is from stormfront.org. A reportedly “racist” site. How about you take 5 mins and read this. {Note- link to racist site deleted. -Lynn} You will find out how stupid you are being to others, and yourself.
P.S. If you wanna get technical on the 5 “races”. Please do. And yes, I have white, black, asian, spanish, and filipino friends.
Wow 11 views and 0 replies. You guys are the biggest yellow-bellies ever. Why not post your comments? If someone blasts you I’ll back you up. Dont worry I have like a 100-0 record for being right. It’s not that hard. COMMON SENSE is my ammo baby and I am loaded! (dont confuse my humourous approach to this with my intelligence, if you do then you are un-intelligent )
Oh and this IS a challenge to please attempt and PROVE ME WRONG.
I’m also proud that my fiancee (and many of my friends) is Korean. I’m also proud that a have a very good friend who is Jewish, and several that are black… and a few that don’t know what the hell they are!
I don’t think it’s racist to be proud of what you are…
I’m most proud that I’m a fairly good person, and that most other people are too! In spite of the rotten world we have to live in…
The phrase “I am proud to be white” is not inherently racist. It is perfectly fine to be proud of being what you are. The problem tends to arise from the often-intended and usually-inferred unspoken comments after the phrase.
If you were to say, “I am proud to be white. I am glad I am not any other race/ethnicity/background because then I might miss out on all the wonderful and rich history and culture that goes along with being white. I realize that other races/ethnicities/backgrounds have their own rich histories and cultures but since I was born into this one, I feel a personal connection with my roots and therefore respect and admire them.”–this would be perfectly acceptable.
However, most people who utter the phrase, “I am proud to be white” do not utter (at least out loud or in mixed company) the rest of what they mean by that. Usually, it is something along the lines of “…because if I was black/Asian/Indian/Mexican etc. then I would look ugly and have to eat weird foods and sound retarded when I speak and have to do stupid ritual things and worship weird gods…” and numerous other stereotype-driven generalizations and misuderstood cultural differences.
Therefore, it is only a racist statement if it is meant that way. I’m sure you are going to come back and tell me that hyper-sensitive people always assume it is meant to be offensive. Well, hyper-sensitive people always assume everything is meant to be offensive.
But if you are looking down your nose at other cultures and the beauty that is their beliefs, traditions and appearances, then when you say, “I am proud to be white”–it is a racist and offensive statement.
Oh, and R_dawg, just because no one replies doesn’t mean we are all yellow bellies (only some of us!)…
Read it more as that those who viewed and did not reply were merely curious about a seemingly inflamatory subject, weren’t interested after reading the post, or just had nothing to say about it…
Ok first of all cool. evilbeth is like on my level. Just had to spark this up cause of when Insider asked “how do you tell Chinese, Korean and Japanese apart” he was indirectly deemed a “racist”. Kinda pissed me off to see a totally innocent question take such a bs turn for no reason.
guy: Hey white boy
me: Hey black boy
guy: WHAT THE FUCK YOU SAY HUH?!
me: exactly what you said
I am proud to be a member of this great diverse universe. I am proud to be a member of this small speck in the universe that we call earth. I am proud to live in a country on this small speck that allows us the right to speak freely. I am proud that as a small free-speaking citizen of this small country on this small speck in this small universe in this small galaxy that I can say that I love my dog.
I was told in Psychology class that all groups are ethnocentric, meaning they believe in the inherent superiority of their own ethnic group. I believe this is true.
By the way, evilbeth, right on! Regardless of race or color, each of us, just by being here, has already proven that we were the best of millions of little swimmy wiggle-tail thingies. That alone is something to be proud of.
