I am SERIOUSLY WORRIED that these riots are going to get Trump re-elected

What is the deal with the guy who was shooting paint balls at protestors getting shot dead and then the guy who supposedly killed him killing himself later?

The Trump campaign is on record as wanting violence and chaos, and has taken action to directly cause violence and chaos (brutalizing peaceful protesters in DC and Portland). They’re the bad guys, for those of us concerned about facts and basic morality.

There should be one general thread called “Orange Man Bad” and then there could be others about every other topic that do not include TDS.

As pointed before, the Agent Orange also got his fingers into this mess, showing that the law is just a scrap of paper for him.

Thanks for making my point.
You get a cookie and a small soda.

Well of course, one should always point that the Trump Derangement Syndrome is coming from Trump. :slightly_smiling_face:

This thread has Trump in the title. It’s not like you were triggered by an unexpected hijack.

I posted evidence of how deranged Trump is, you have only your happy meal opinion. :yum:

I don’t pretend to predict the future. However, all the evidence so far is that the riots are not appreciably affecting his polling.

It has always struck me as strange that TDS would be attributed to the part of the electorate that had absolutely no illusions about the kind of incompetent buffoon Trump was and would continue to be. The only derangement I see is everyone who continues to support Trump in spite of all incontrovertible evidence that he is not fit to shovel shit from one place to another.

Any chance you’d care to explain the real case of TDS and how it so easily afflicted ~63M MAGATS?

TIL that Trevor Noah was a Magat!

:grinning:

wat?..

TDS has also been used from time to time as the initialism for The Daily Show.

I was a proponent of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” for a while. I really did believe - though I found him to be an odious and utterly hateful person and an incompetent president who was embarrassing to the rest of the world - that many of the people criticizing him were sky-is-falling alarmists who exaggerated his presidency as being more traumatic for the country than it actually was.

COVID was the turning point. He has manifestly demonstrated at this point that he IS as destructive and dangerous as people have been saying, and now at this point I can’t accuse anyone else of TDS. It’s the “T” who is himself deranged.

He’s still good at campaigning though and Biden will most definitely face an uphill battle, IMO.

Moderation Note

Knock it off, please. Let’s keep things civil.

At this point, unless Biden has a massive scandal, I don’t think that there is anything that will move the numbers from where they are now.

For Trump supporters it has already been established that there is literally nothing that Trump can do that would change their mind about him. Meanwhile, there is practically nothing the Biden could do that would make him worse than Trump, so the numbers are baked in and have been since 2017.

The only question is how good Trumps voter suppression apparatus works out.

Trump’s numbers have edged up a bit over the last 10 days but not more than a smallish convention bounce which is likely to fade. Overall I think riots remain a worry particularly if they recur closer to the elections but Biden has handled them pretty well and Trump is not in a good position to take political advantage since he is widely considered an irresponsible charlatan.

I’m pretty sure he did.

He didn’t win the popular vote but that’s not how the general election is won. He lost the popular vote by 3 million votes and 5 million of those 3 million votes were from California.

No, Clinton won the general election. But Trump won the electoral college election and that’s what decides who’s President.

It’s a bad system but it’s what we have.
