I am so pleased that I can hardly stand it!!
Why, you ask with palpable curiosity.
Because, I guffaw, I have suceeded!
In what, you question, looking at me as if I’m nuts.
For months, I reply with a grin, I have been writing to senators, congressmen, various newspapers, the Fox nosey news segments, and many BBs about that lying, misleading, fake, insulting accent equipped, preying on the hopeless, desperate and foolish, Miss Cleo!
The other day, I read in my news paper where she is under investigation by the feds!! (Hooray for the Feds!)
There are no real psychics on TV people! It’s all a scam to get your dough. That should have been obvious when all but a few of these psy-kicks started piling in phone operators to give readings instead of answering each call themselves! While there may be real ones out there, the TV kind are not them!
Even after several ex-psychic workers exposed the whole scam, people still flooded the lines and with Miss Cleo, a reporter checked her out and actually worked in her hoard of phone psychics for a time and learned much. Like, how Miss Cleo is actually a couple of corporations, how a caller never talks to her, how incoming calls are switched automatically via computer to the first operator with the highest numbers who is free. By numbers, I mean, the operator who keeps the callers on the line the longest, generating more income.
Anyone with half a brain should also have realized that Miss Cleo also, as every other phone psychic did, used fake callers for the commercials.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that the majority of the Psychic Hotlines are now off of TV? Miss Cleo, here anyhow, is the only one still advertising. I’d be real selfish to claim that I did it all by myself because thousands of others had to be writing in before the lofty legislators would even glance at her business, but I participated and I like to think that my efforts made a big difference.
I really despise these TV businesses which prey on the desperate, and even the 800SCREW numbers are more honest than TV psychics because there, you pretty well know what you’ll get and most folks know you will not be talking to the models shown on the screen, but fantasy powers that type of caller anyhow.
I also got real irritated with people who would not get involved to stop this type of thing, who told me ‘let the buyer beware,’ said it’s just business, that people calling the sites are old enough to take care of themselves, that so long as these places work within the law it is OK, and generally were saying that it was fine to screw people who let themselves get screwed.
I disagreed.
So, watch for it. The fall of Miss Cleo is on the way!
