I am so proud of my daughter!

Many of you know her as Sakura here on the Board.

We found out today that she won first prize in her age category for poetry in a competition sponsored by the Rockland County Counsel on the Arts. Last year she won first prize in her age category for short story.

Even though I’m her father, I’m trying to be objective when I say she’s a terrific writer. I don’t have to be objective to say Lindsay, I love you and I’m so very proud of you.

WTG, Sakura

Can I see the poem?

I’d have to ask her permission to post it. It’s her property, after all, and I have to respect her copyright.

Congrats, Sakura!

I love writing, and anyone that’s good at it has my respect. Come back here & share with us!

Yay Sakura! I’ve been wondering what you’ve been up to! Congratulations!

Brava, Sakura!

Keep up the good work. The world needs good writers.

Congratulations to Sakura!

DAVEW0071, congrats to you as well!

Thank you, rastahomie, Persephone, AudreyK, Cajun Man and DRY. Actually, Sakura doesn’t even know I posted this, as I did it last night after she went to bed. Don’t know if she’ll be embarrassed by it (wouldn’t be the first time I embarrassed her, though), angry with me or what. I actually hope she shares the poem with you. It’s very powerful. But again, that’s entirely up to her.

That’s great! Congrats to you both!

Congratulations!

If we’re allowed to see the poem, count me in. I love poetry, being a poetess myself.

Well, she knows about it now, and may be posting it on this thread later this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled.
