Yes peoples, your very own horrible spelling, grammar killing, all round crazy, sexy, flirtatious Ayesha will have a poem she wrote with her own little hands and mind in a book !
I am also a semi-finalist in the poetry.com contest for November.
Now I know all about poetry.com and the reputation they have for ripping poets off. I care not a bit.
I can put as many of my poems as I wish on their web site, free, gratis, it costs me nothing. My work gets copyrighted in my name, again free. I can do anything I wish with my work because it is mine, mine , mine Bwahahahahaha.
Yes if I want a copy of the book I have to buy it. Big deal, at this point I have at least two dozen poems on the site. Since I love to write and use their band width I figure we will come out even in the end.
So choke on that Mr. Smith who always told me when I was a teenager that I was nothing, would never be anything and you didn’t have time to fool with me. Maybe I should print out one on my poems and burn it on your grave. Nah, it isn’t worth MY time.
I will share one of my poems with y’all it is not the one that will be published because frankly I don’t think it is one of my best, I do think this one is.
She
(For Adrain, who never fails to give me her support.)
She wraps herself in the mist of the
night. Beautiful lady, her hair
shimmering softly in the moon light.
She glides among the willow trees,
slips through hanging vines with
an unearthly ease.
She moves with the grace of a hind,
her feet seem to fly beneath the
starry night sky
She stops at the rivers edge, the
night birds join her as she sings
of a lovers broken pledge.
She steps into the river as the dawn
creeps in, slips under the water, her
song silenced until night comes again.
If anyone wants to see any of the rest of my work you can email me and I will give you the information you will need to find it. I can’t post it here because the Mods and the LIONsob would both probably have fits .
