“Holding a bunch of degrees and being at the White House early in life and being a school administrator are not mutually exclusive with intelligence, but neither are they indicators of great intelligence. I’ll call her brilliant when she delivers the goods. Until then, she is a radical and dangerous wanna-be endangering the US of A with her reckless abandonment of our allies in a haphazard pursuit of our least dangerous enemies in the most expensive and ass backward manner possible.”
First, Sparticus, how many degrees do you have? What first class schools have you earned degrees from? My bet is that you haven’t earned any degrees at any decent school.
Second, and I quote: “I’ll call her brilliant when she delivers the goods.” That is a fine statement if you define what you mean by “delivers the goods”. What exactly does that mean? I bet you don’t know because you were ranting like an idiot.
The rest of your rant doesn’t even need to be addressed as it is simply stupid.
I think he just has something against isolationist policy, and he’s taking it out on Condi. Being an isolationist does not make you an imbecile, no matter what these self-described “enlightened” folks believe, with their meddling that has caused nothing but disaster for 100 years. We could discuss isolationism in GD, with the greatest minds on this board (and thus, the greatest minds in the world), and emerge divided. That tells me that there’s something intelligent and reasonable about both approaches, but I think Sparticus is just presuming that anyone holding the viewpoints he ascribes to her is a moron and thus concluding by his own presupposition that she ain’t worth the paper her references are printed on.
From what I can see of her credentials and her ideas, she’s a brilliant theorist…just the sort of person one needs as a policy advisor. The SoS can take care of the formalities. If you disagree with her conclusion, then say so. Don’t assume somebody is an idiot, in total conflict with all the evidence touting her virtues, just because your oh-so-enlightened position on world affairs differs from hers.
Yeah, cause of all those stupid people out there who hold multiple degrees.
You maroon. These things ARE indicators of great intellegence. You don’t have to agree with her politics, but give credit where credit is due.
Agreed. Crapping in someone’s thread in GQ like that is not cool at all-- I am surprised he wasn’t warned or given a posting vacation for that one.
FWIW: advanced degrees do take a good deal of intelligence as a rule, while IMHO BA’s and BS’s take mostly a good work ethic and willingness to use the system. But as I have a JD, I am bias personified and should be ignored on these things. . .
