Er…well sorta.
So my dad has been lookin’ around for me a new (used) car for awhile since my ol’ granny car is gonna give out on me sooner or later. Where does he find my new car? On Ebay! I mean it’s one thing to buy batteries for power tools and electronic toothbrushes on Ebay…but a car? Just seems a little be risky don’tcha think?
So he bid on and won a red Honda Prelude located in Philidelphia. Looks like a decent car, and we could only hope for the best considering there’s no chance to test drive it or anything. So he and my brother in law trekked up to Philidelphia thursday to get it and what do they come home with? A '93 Toyota Corolla!
Ebay Honda wasn’t what dad expected so Ebay seller dude let dad take a different car he had for sale for an extra 600 dollars. Just imagine if he had, had the car shipped down here and discovered it to be less than stellar! :eek: Fortunatly the seller was so nice otherwise I think dad would’ve come just a wee bit grumpy with his purchase.
So all in all everything turned out well. I own a car my dad got though Ebay indirectly. It’s dirty, has a broken antenna, needs a hubcap and a power lock button but all that is easy to fix. He got it for a steal compared to what it’s worth in the Kelly Blue Book.
I’m sure the Honda will be put back up for aution and maybe the seller won’t be so over enthusiastic over it and someone else will buy it. I’m gonna have to kiss granny car goodbye once I get the Corolla all clean with the pieces replaced. When people ask me where I got my car I can proudly hold my head up and tell them my dad got it off Ebay.
I don’t think dad will buy anymore cars off Ebay though. The travel expenses are just a bit to much!
Anybody else ever buy a car off Ebay? Good or Bad experiences?
