I apologize for my long absence

As I’m sure everyone has noticed, although curiously there are no threads about it, I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. I haven’t been reading either. I know how this reduces the quality for everyone else, but sometimes I must prioritize me over you, and this fall I’ve:

  • Moved to the US and Boston
  • gotten married
  • started playing Breath of the Wild

and that has just taken all of my SDMB time.

:dubious: :stuck_out_tongue:
Seems to be the main reason I hear of anyone moving to the U.S. these days.

Congrats, and I hope you enjoy it here. Also, good choice of game if you were gonna be moving.

The important thing is that you’re divorced now, and back with us.

Trader! You knew when you signed up on this board you weren’t allowed to have a life of your own!

My bold. Huh? Care to explain?

(I think BigT meant marriage is why people move here.)

Congratulations!! Welcome to the US!

Ah! Haha, for some reason I thought he said being from Norway was the main reason for moving to the US!

Breath of the Wild, huh? I bet that’s been a major adjustment.

That and kroner go far in the US (or most any other country). Welcome back.

The accomplishments:
moved
married
played

My heartfelt reactions:
congratulations!
I’m so sorry.
meh.

Mix and match as desired!

It was the getting married part that took time, not the being married part. Although if I don’t get my Zelda addiction under control you might score a point for clairvoyance. (It’s just sooo good!)

You’ve chosen to dedicate your life to another, travelling to far lands in order to do it. That takes a heck of a commitment. I did the same and no matter how much emotional energy it has taken I don’t regret it for a minute…or getting married.

(honestly, I dedicated hours of my life to getting the best of that monster and yet I still keep going back for more…I’ve also finished “breath of the wild”…:D"

The word is “traitor.” Otherwise, you were spot on. It’s in the bylaws and a personal life, particularly a happy one, can get you banned. Sorry, Trader, but the rules were there when you signed on.

Welcome to Ningland! You probably won’t think it’s that cold around here, but you still won’t be happy about the weather.

Like that store run by Joe?

Who has a life, anyway?
