I apparently had a stroke

All three test appointments have been set up. Two next week, with the third not until mid-may. Thanks for the good wishes.

And in News of the Odd, my mom had a stroke Friday. Hang in there, sending good thoughts your way.

…beard?

I’m trying to come up with a witticism, but all I’m coming up with is, “What a stroke of luck!” And that’s not witty at all. It’s just stupid.

Take care of yourself Chefguy.

My new theme song.

I did not think of beard, good addition.

Post noted.
[Empathy felt and inadequately expressed.]

Humaning is hard. Take care of you, Chefguy.

Had the MRI/A with contrast yesterday and had the Zio patch put on. The MRI came back showing only light plaque in the carotids, which is good news. Have to wear the Zio for 2 weeks. Awkward to shower, but it’s unobtrusive. My GP has recommended doubling up on my statin med, so I’ll likely do that.

Glad the test news is that good. Keep up the good work!

Any possible symptoms at all that you may have just dismissed at the time?

Quite possible. A bit of dizziness or a stumble is not enough to ring any alarm bells for most people.

Thanks for sharing the good news about the MRI, I’m happy to hear it!

Had the echocardiogram last Wednesday. Came back with no problems. Now I’m waiting on the results from the Zio patch, which will tell me if there is any a-fib.

It sounds like they are making steady progress. How many tests are left?

Just the Zio monitor. The results should be back any day now.

A Zio monitor sounds like something a Nonna might invent. Or perhaps a Zia who’s feeling a bit suspicious.

When you’re wearing it, it looks like you have some sort of bizarre growth on your chest.

Glad to hear things worked out. Now that you’ve had your 100000 mile service done you should be good for another 20 years at least!

Like I said, I still haven’t seen the a-fib results, so I’m not doing the happy dance quite yet.

Are you like…um…old? I’m asking so I can know what kind of thing I can look forward to / need to keep and eye on as I move along…
