Just out of curiosity - Which is your Wegmans? Mine’s the East Ave. store, and it’s tiny. (For a Wegmans, that is. It’s still head and shoulders above the supermarkets I grew up with in Massachusetts.)
I avoid the Pittsford Wegmans, too, more because it’s just too damned much, unless I’m looking for a specific item I’m not likely to find at the smaller ones.

Jumps up and down stupidly and excitedly
East Ave. is my Wegmans! It is too small but they promise they are going to expand it. I can’t wait. The crowds are becoming unbearable.
I am such a dweeb for being excited that a Doper shops at my Wegman’s. But excited, I am!

In my younger days I used to carry random items (tampons, condoms, spam) in my cart and surreptitiously put them in the carts left in the middle of the aisle.
I think I might start doing this again when I get a little older and no longer give a fuck.

Heh! I do the same thing, only with Space Food Sticks
Man, I love the grocery store. I go to a local Publix, which is an excellent store. Also, every time I walk into a modern, clean, well-stocked grocery store, I’m just a little bit overwhelmed at what a land of plenty we have. I’m not so far removed from dirt-ass poor Appalachian roots that I can’t appreciate what an incredible cornucopia the modern grocery store represents. Yeah, there are a lot of negatives. Unsustainable farming/transportation, inconsiderate shoppers, prices, lazy employees, etc. But grocery shopping is a lot of fun for me, and maybe a bit of a privilege.
