I bought MS Office; can I use it on all my computers?

I bought MS Office at the beginning of 2008, via the internet. I had to format my computer a couple times since then, and each time I’ve been able to successfully go to Digital Locker and retrieve its download. I also have a PC and another laptop (both of which I’ve just formatted, making them functional again), but I’m apprehensive to try to go to digital locker to download them, since I’m afraid that it’s against the rules and MS will find a way of shutting down my version of Office on my primary laptop, the one for which I originally downloaded the program.

I know piracy is a pretty big issue in this day, so I’m not sure if using it for all three of my computers is a violation. Like I said, though, I already bought the program from an authorized source, so I figure that it should be mine to do what I want with it. Can anyone shed some light on this for me, please?

In a situation like this, I wound up calling MS who gave me a proper code, IIRC. I think it involved moving a copy from a dead computer to a new one. I guess they figure that if you call you are unlikely to be a pirate.

The student edition, by the way, allows three licenses.

Thanks a lot for your quick answer. I do have the Home & Student version (or something like that), so if it has 3 licenses, I guess I’m good to go.

Are you sure? Regardless of the number of times you downloaded the software, you may only install and use the software based on the number of licenses you purchased and the specific instances allowed for each license.
