It was also “dead-on,” and launched with creative style and disdain that adds salt to an already deep wound.

A practicing socialist? Given any medical care to the masses lately? How about controlling the means of production? No?
What about giving us some cites? Without backup, your arguments ring as true as a Chick tract, and I’ve seen the Communist and Socialist leaflets that imitate those. In what city do you “practice socialism”? What kind of socialism–since there are splinter groups? How do you practice socialism, anyhow, without government intervention? Or do you practice the same type of cafeteria socialism as cafeteria Christians do and pick-and-choose the thinkers you do and don’t agree with and only count them as “true socialists”? These are serious questions, Olentzero. If you ignore them as you did my comment on your misguided attack on Scylla, there aren’t many here who will take you as someone to listen to. But, “I’m a member of a five-person cell, I know what I’m talking about, and if I tell you anything more I have to kill you,” doesn’t cut it.
Now, can you deny that I called you on a bad post, or can you deny that Scylla provided scholarly and learned resources and you didn’t, or are you willing to skulk out of the Pit like the knee-jerk, whiney, “Someone pissed on me when I deserved it and I’m gonna make a Pit thread,” wuss you are?

stofsky: Here’s the website for the International Socialist Organization, to which I belong and to which oldscratch at one point belonged as well. One book I highly recommend is Nazism, Capitalism and the Working Class by Donny Gluckstein, a member of our British sister group. I believe it can be ordered through the site. It’s a thoroguh and well-researched book, and clearly shows how the Nazis, even in their early stages, set themselves up against the working class and the parties that already existed to promote the interests of that class. By “practicing Socialist”, BTW, I mean “a member of an active Socialist party” rather than “one who’s implemented Socialism somewhere”. And fuck you too, for that “wuss” comment. Academic debates, quoting chapter and verse, are not the only method of fighting ignorance.
