Yep. On Monday the heel of my shoe stayed on the curb while the rest of my foot was trying to get in the car and down I went. Ouch.
The ER took x-rays and declared “it’s not broken, it’s just sprained” and referred me to a podiatrist.
The podiatrist looks at the x-rays the next day and says “yep, you broke it” and shows me where the break is. How the ER missed it is beyond me.
As breaks go, though, it’s a good one to have. I have a neato space boot looking thingy that I can take on and off. The doc told me to stay off of it as much as possible but I can walk on it when I absolutely have to. The pain is decreasing every day and last night I was able to (gingerly) walk up the stairs, which was a welcome change from crawling. I’m excused from school all this week and all next week, but I imagine I’ll be able to at least some of my classes next week.
How ANYONE gets addicted to Lortabs is a mystery. They make me dizzy, nauseous and unconscious. Oh sure, they’re great when you’re in pain, but why would anyone want to walk around feeling like that all the time?
