It really doesn’t. It’s not really the lolcats site that I’m pitting, it’s much more the insipid use of lolcat speak here. I just wouldn’t go there. And it would take a major dickhead to go there and complain – though I bet they get that. Even the carry over here might have been cute and mildly amusing the first time… or the second… but if the person doing it for the 6,240,851st time thinks it’s funny, then… I don’t know what. You tell me. Can that person really think it’s funny?

… If you cook them too long they’re liable to turn out all tough and chewy. And if their hair lights well, they go up like marshmallows and it’s like eating little charcoal briquettes with legs. But, cooked right–say to a nice medium rare–there ain’t nothing that beats a good cat, …

3?
I hear they’re greasy, like goose.
Do them has a flavor, like cheezburger?
Am they has a better flavor with bacon salt?

I’m a DBZ fan though, so I think it’s funny.

Yep, one would definitely follow the other. Like crabs and an uncomfortable itch.

I just watched that. Sorries, I does not get.

Its’ kinda a geek in-joke. The humor is partly because of how over-dramatic the readings are and partly because people work the phase into their lives. It has been repeated OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAND times, at least.
In all my days as an internet visitor, I have had a secret pride. I had never seen the goatse image.
I have heard of it. I have been given descriptions of it. I have seen parodies, spoofs, artwork, photoshops.
But I had avoided actually looking at it. Then, tonight, I clicked on your link. Finding it confusing, I decided to follow one of the links on that page.
I have now seen the image. I cannot unsee it. Thanks, Autolycus. You have just broken a perfect record. Thanks a lot.

It had to happen. You can’t have been on the Interweb this long without having been goatsed.

I am avoiding tubgirl like the plague. I don’t even know what penisbird is.

Hmmm, it’s like you and me live in completely different universes. I don’t consider myself to be an uber-weirdo or anything, but I am always morbidly curious when I learn of these new and disgusting internet oddities/pics and I have to hunt them down immediately.

No, but I don’t really think people do it to be “funny” that’s why I used the word silly. It’s a bit of a different thing. Like a lighthearted break from all that “oh we must be such serious adults with such cleverness and put such deep intelligent thought into every thing that way say” stuff.
I think it’s more of a slight “in-crowd” thing. (only without the stupid HS angst and crap since anyone can join). This particular one I believe I have managed to avoid (but then I may just not have remembered giving into the nonsense), it’s mildly cute, but not really catchy as say “1920s Style Death Ray”. Plus it doesn’t have a funny background story like the 1920s Style Death Ray.

Moreover, you will now be seeing it everywhere, even in places it is really not. For example, take the poster for the entirely wholesome movie Whale Rider:
