I can hear my heart beat if I lie still enough. And I have no heart problems I’m aware of. I’m an off-and-on distance runner and I walk everywhere, so I’m quite fit. My resting pulse rate’s typically below 60, but I’ve measured it as low as 45 upon waking up from a longer-than-normal sleep.
Torso Joe? Invisible Man? Is that you?
Pulse getting as low as 45 may be a warning sign… after or during sleep.
My wife wore a 24 hr monitor and found her pulse was normal during exercise and when she is awake. (low 60’s to high 50’s)But at night it gets down to 45… her cardiologist says she will need a Pace Maker within a year or so.
Whenever I’m drunk, a vein in my temple pulsates visabily. A great trick at parties!
i can see my chest move quite a bit to heart beat after xtremely vigorous exercise, but normally i can’t see it.
I’m 14 and turning 15 in 3 months and skinny and I can always see my heart beating, it’s not big it’s like the normal sized heart beat, I can see it through my chest a little and I have started doing exercise and eating a bit more, I see it ALL the time so i know it’s not heart palpations.
I started noticing it when I stopped eating more in 2022 so do you think it’s because I’m skinny?
Just wanted to make sure because I am a bit worried haha
When asked, your family doc likely will reassure you that all is well.
When I’m close to me
I can see my heart beat
I can hear me breathing in my ear
Wouldn’t you agree?
I myself and me, got a groovy kind of love
Hey, 20-years-in-the-past poster, I wondered that too, because I see that sometimes as well.
Seeing your heart beating and your pulse in veins can be an indication of other heart related problems and should not be ignored. You should always mention these to your doctor to be checked out.
For example, seeing your pulse in the jugular veins in your neck can be an indication of systolic heart failure. One ventricle of your heart fills up with blood as it should but that side is weak and does not empty and pump all the blood out. This can result in a visible throbbing of the vein going up one side of your chest and into your neck as the blood is backing up.
This is dangerous because the blood is not moving through the heart well and may clot and send that clot to your brain and cause a stroke. And you might feel just fine until then.
