I cannot function with out shoes on. This is weird. It is as if part of my mind shuts down when the soles come off. My brain say “Oh, surely there nothing of importance to be done, or great matters to be pondered! See! See as the lad wanders on naked feet! Now must then be a time for television and cookie dough. Now go, off to the couch my son for there is slacking to be done!”.
The change is almost palpable. It is as if some mental grime is being washed away by water, I can feel it quickly eroding, only to accrete just as quickly when the laces become slack. Accomplishing anything is like trying to flex a muscle for extended periods, you just can’t keep it up.
What is this horrible inertia that only the power of shoes can dispel? Does anyone else have this problem?
I kick off my shoes as soon as I enter any family member’s house, and I still manage to carry on intelligent conversations.
Must be just you, Paul Atreides
I do strip and change into pajamas as soon as I get home from work. I don’t consider myself relaxing until the bra’s off and the Victoria Secret silk jammies are on.
mmm…bare feet. I can’t relax if I have shoes on. Summer doesn’t start untill you no longer have to wear shoes - Roman sandals will do at a pinch, but really, if it’s hot, and you’re wearing shoes, you’re working too hard
