I can't keep a barber

There’s a good barber in Belltown, and it was easy to make an appointment and walk over from the office. But our office moved a couple/few years ago. So I found another barber not too far from the new office. I went to him several times (it’s usually several months between haircuts). I went over one day to find he shop being gutted to expand the attached diner. The barber had retired. Fortunately, I found a barber shop near my home. Beth the Barber did a nice job. The second-to-the-last time I went back, there was a different barber there. Beth had retired. The new barber wasn’t as friendly as Beth, but she did a good job. The last time I went there, the shop was closed. This morning I googled for her hours, and noted on a review preview ‘Permanently closed.’

So it looks like Super Cuts for me. I just got off the phone with Mrs. L.A., and she said I should not go to Super Cuts. ‘I don’t want them to make you look like a hedgehog.’ I’ve warned her that I’m going to go short-and-spiky, so I’ll look like a hedgehog no matter where I go. If I go to Super Cuts, I can just blame it on them.

Anyway, it’s bloody inconvenient being unable to find a barber I can keep using.

Sorry to here …I would lend u mine but it is a LONG drive to University City MO.
I use Fred, The U-City barber! 16$ and a hot lather shave of the neck and sideburns.

How horrifying must giving you a haircut that people quit the profession immediately after attempting it? What’s wrong with you, son?

My first thought too. Is there something about your hair that you’re not telling us?

Man, the hot lather shave is a dying art, isn’t it? I sometimes go to a shop on St. Charles Rock Road near 70 that still does it. But there’s not many places left that do. Even some places that look old school, with the revolving striped pole out front and everything, don’t do it anymore. Dammit, if there’s a barber pole outside, there better be some straight razors inside!

I totally feel your pain. People are always saying that they want to be immortal, but you just settle into a routine when another generation starts retiring on you. AmIright?
