It just looks yellow to me in that photo.
I thought I saw it once, from an airplane. But it could be that staring at the Sun just caused a temporary blind spot.

Same speed, but Green can turn tighter due to her smaller wavelength. Here you assumed the Green Flash was a male, didn’t you. Her secret identity as an androgenous gogo dancer lends to the confusion!
My son and I caught it once in Kona, Hawaii. It is cool.
Great photography!
Nice catch.
So, now what?
Do you turn her over to the authorities, or do you negotiate with her for her release?
And here’s the obligatory xkcd: xkcd: Green Flash
I’d have congratulated you even if you hadn’t caught it on film. But that’s awesome. It’s not been captured that often–for a while, people thought it was just an optical illusion.
So were you trying to capture it, or just taking a picture of the sunset?
Yes, I was hoping to photograph it. I was ready and waiting as the sun set.
Congrats!
If I remember correctly, they last for 1/8 sec. I once called a friend out on the deck of a ship to see if we could catch it. He did. I didn’t. Sigh. I tried not to hold it against him.
