I think the entire article is trying to make the argument that James Cameron is a devout Pantheist, and his movie is really a manipulative religious tool that will convert you to the “religion” of Pandora, thereby destroying Christianity forever. Oh, and Haiti is primitive and disgraceful, therefore capitalism is God’s sanctified gift to humanity, being as pure as the driven snow such as Jesus Himself.
Bwah?!
To read the entire article is to take a trip into a dark, mindless place where madness lurks and any hope of sanity, reason and logic is lost. Enjoy!
This isn’t so much true in the case of the earthquake, but some of Haiti’s other natural disasters have been made much worse because of the country’s environmental problems. Hurricanes and other rainstorms have caused much more severe flooding and landslides due to the extreme deforestation in the country.
First hurricane Katrina totally blew my faith in the Force, now the Haiti earthquake has disillusioned me about the ontological model of Avatar… I guess I will remain apostate until Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said comes out next year.
Perhaps if the type of Christianity popular in Haiti was not so hell-bent against birth control of any sort the place wouldn’t be so drastically overpopulated and there’d be more of everything to go around.
I doubt many of the Haitians could’ve afforded to see Avatar, thereby, they haven’t been converted to Pantheism (which does include earthquakes!) but alas, Pantheism is bunk and clearly Christianity is not.
OR IS IT?!
Since now, the majority of Haitians remain Christians, does this mean not seeing Avatar proves Christianity doesn’t work?
Quick, someone call someone… I think we’re on to something!
I think that the lack of people in Haiti seeing Avatar proves that Avatar prevents earthquakes. I mean, you haven’t seen any major earthquakes anywhere else in the world, where Avatar has been making money hand over fist.
