I cornhole April Fool's Day web jokes

(That would be the right equivalent term, right?)

This stuff was cute back in 2000 when it wasn’t expected, but we’ve gotten to the point where every website does it, every year, and you can see it coming a mile off. It’s pretty much just a rule of thumb that anything posted on any website on April 1st is a lie.

A prank that you’re expecting isn’t a prank at all, it’s just a waste of time when you just want to get stuff done.

(This is a test post, sorry, must be in this forum): Pit.

ETA: Ok, wondering if “pit” was auto-corrected to “cornhole” or something.

ETA2: BBQ Pit

It’s not that they are pranks, as they are just there to be funny. And I for one appreciate them. XKCD’s and Google’s are some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Funny or Die’s rebecca black thing last year was also incredible.

People put a lot of work into them and it often is absolutely hilarious. They aren’t trying to prank you, they’re trying to humor you.

This. Except I think the word you’re looking for is amuse, rather than humor.

If they were trying to humor him, they’d be foregoing the special April Fool’s Day funny business, and pissing off the people who enjoy it.

Some of it’s funny, some of it isn’t. But in general it’s really annoying because you can’t believe anything posted.

Also, I am seriously aggravated that this isn’t a real product.

They shouldn’t get people’s hopes up like that.

Thinkgeek has actually turned their April Fools jokes into reality in the past when demand was high enough. Start a petition! (While it’s hilarious to look at I won’t be signing or buying one but good luck!)

The only good thing that came out of it was being reminded of this scene from Arrested Development.
