So now I’m clean-shaven for the first time in over 24 years!!!
I was just washing up, when I noticed that my beard looked rather scruffy. I started out by just giving myself my regular trim, but it still looked kinda coarse, so I thought, well, maybe it’s time for a change. So away went my beard and moustache!!!
You have no idea how hard it is to shave your upper lip when it’s been nearly 30 years since the last time you did it.
You should have seen how big Mrs. TGKK’s and my daughter’s eyes got when I emerged from the bathroom with my naked face. The last time Mrs. TGKK saw me this way, we were still in college. My daughters have never seen me this way before.
My workday tomorrow ought to be interesting; I expect I shall spend a good portion of the day being gawked at.
It will be a short lived phenomena however. Most probably by the end of the week my face will begin to become furry once again.
I’ve noticed as my facial hair starts to demelanize that gray hair grows in SO much more coarsely than regular hair. As my beard grows progressively paler, it also gets harder and harder to keep looking nice. I have wild hairs shooting off like very thin lightning bolts all over the place…
I only trimmed tonight, though. Without the beard, I look like a glandular 12-year-old.
I had been wearing one for about a year and a half when a recent play I was in required me to cut it, so I did. It’s only now starting to grow back and I’m just now realizing how much I missed it.
Okay it’s been less than 24 hours, and I’m already tired of being clean-shaven. My face feels funny, like it’s damp, and I 'm constantly rubbing my facce to wipe it off. I thought about staying beardless for a week or so, but I think the regrowth starts tonight.
If I can figure out how to, I’ll post before and after photos soon, probably tonight.
I think it won’t let me view. I’ve had the current beard for 20 years. Most of the people I know have never seen me without it. Sometimes I think about taking it down to a goatee just cause I’m convinced I’d be sexy in a goatee but I haven’t gotten brave enough to do that much less shave it off.
I married Mr. Adoptamom sight unseen His mom showed me a picture of him without his beard before we married, but it was 5 years after we married before he shaved it off and I got to see him for myself! I think he looks great either way, but enjoy when he shaves it off occasionally … adds a little spice to things and it’s sort of like having an affair with my husband
