I.D. an anime motorcycle from a screenshot?

Pardon my posting, especially with such a strange and pointless question, but I was wondering…could anyone here, as the title of the post says, help me identify a motorcycle from an anime movie? I have two screenshots here and here. (I’m assuming that displaying two frames from a twenty year old movie doesn’t violate any “fair use” rules, but tell me if I’m wrong). The film in question came out in 1984, if that’s any help.

And I realize that the bike in question might not be an actual model, but it looked like it might be BASED on something in real life, at least. Can anyone help?

(And don’t ask me why a big game/bounty hunter in South America would want to drive a motorcycle with that paint job. I wouldn’t know either.)

Not that I’m a motorbike expert or anything, but the first thing I thought of was BMW R100RS. The fairing looks the same and, if you added panniers to the anime bike, you’d have a similar sort of look.

There are probably other possibilities out there, but that’s the first one that leapt to mind for me.
