I.D. this eighties horror movie with a sci-fi twist at the end

A friend was telling me about this yesterday, but he couldn’t remember the name. A family is trapped in their house and cannot get out. There’s some sort of evil slime leaking through the house, etc.

At the end, the twist is that the house is doll-sized in comparison to the giant alien child that’s been playing with them, and the slime is the child’s lollipop that was melting into the house. The end is something to the effect of the mother alien reminding the child to be nice to her pets.

Anyone!?

Using Google, I’ve found this:

It’s an episode of the TV show Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense entitled “Child’s Play”.

The 1st thing I thought of was a Twilight Zone Episode. I couldn’t remember the name, but looked it up on IMDB: “Stopover in a Quiet Town.” It sounds just like your movie, without the slime on the walls.

I remember that story. It was one of the first time I understood what a ‘twist’ in the plot was.

Excellent movie. Sorry I can’t remember the name. Another hint, though. At some point, they start checking all the products and they all have the same logo

ETA: The goo was some candy melting. The doll house was left on something hot (can’t remember) and they were getting broiled in there.

So this was a regular theatrical release?

The other similar Twilight Zone episode was
Five Characters in Search of an Exit.

That was the one with several typical doll types that ended up in a bin.
