I dare you to find one pop song where a backup children's choir is not annoying.

Thread over.

Another Brick in the Wall Part II - extra bonus points for being the only Pink Floyd song that ISN’T annoying.

Every sperm is sacred from Monty Pythons Meaning of Life

Ok not exactly a choir, but a chorus line.

Of course there is always the St Winifreds School Choir

Be warned you may feel like scraping your ears and most of your crainial matter out with a spoon during that song.

You Can’t Always get What You Want by the Rolling Stones.

At least they sound like kids to me.

London Bach Choir

I hoped it was the Vienna Boys Choir. :smack: Nope. They’re grown-ups.

Wouldn’t that be the antithesis of “not annoying?”

I was wilfully ignoring the not part of the OP in a desperate attempt to expunge the memory of that song by spreading the misery a little, in a Ring type fashion.

Apart for the aforementioned Rolling Stones number, all I had was a vague recollection of a Cater USM song I quite liked , but that was probably just a sample of the Rolling Stones song.

I’m partial to Pat Benetar’s We Belong, and I admit that I really, really like Mike and the Mechanics’ The Living Years, but I imagine people could find that song annoying.

I didn’t think the kids were annoying in Happy Xmas (War is Over).

From Little Things Big Things Grow by Paul Kelly. Not sure of the age of the choir but they sound like kids. I love that song, though some people say it’s overproduced. There are live versions on Youtube, but no choir.

Actually, I’m going to go ahead and assume this is exactly the song the OP was thinking of when he started this thread. The opening seems to go on forever, because I’m forced to listen to prepubescent boys barely annunciating the song’s title over, and over, and over again.

Piece of shit song, IMO.

Except they aren’t prepubescent boys.

I like the children’s chorus in Kanye West’s “We Don’t Care.”

I love this song, and came in here to post it.

I always wondered if the choir kids parents knew what their wee bairns would be singing that day…

I can’t believe I didn’t think of this one earlier…

Alice Cooper. School’s Out.

I’m a fan of Alice, and don’t like Floyd, but Another Brick comes to mind before School’s Out…sigh

Amazing Because It Is by The Almost.

The choir sings Amazing Grace in the backround, and it always makes me well up.

The Mike & Mechanics song is precisely the hideous abomination that immediately popped into my head and made me angry to have read the thread title, and the Rolling Stones is ALMOST an exception in my head, but not quite. Now I have a Tina Turner song (bad thing from some Mad Max movie) in my head and I’m enraged again. Thanks, OP!

Macy Gray’s Hey Young World, Part 2 is my favorite of her songs.
